Sam “is an excellent lawyer overall – incredibly smart, capable and hardworking,” and he “brings an excellent drive and focus to the work he does for his clients.”
"Sam is a very practical litigator, who is smart and has the best grasp of the case."
Chambers USA
A veteran trial lawyer and former Assistant Federal Public Defender, Samuel Randall has tried more than 20 cases to verdict. Repeatedly recognized for his exceptional accomplishments in the field of antitrust, Sam has been ranked by Chambers USA as a leader in his field since 2021.
Primarily focused on prosecuting claims for companies victimized by domestic and international price-fixing conspiracies, Sam has helped clients obtain substantial recoveries from cartels in industries as diverse as polyurethane foam, eggs, cathode ray tubes, packaged seafood, lithium-ion batteries, and broiler chickens.
Sam’s ability to marshal vast amounts of information and data, problem-solve, and present concise and persuasive arguments in court prove invaluable to clients and their cases. He identifies and develops legal theories and then devises a case strategy to maximize his clients’ recoveries while minimizing the burden of the litigation on their businesses.
Earlier in his career, Sam was a law clerk for the Honorable Adalberto Jordan, District Court Judge for the Southern District of Florida. Sam also taught evidence as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami.

Representative Cases
Following a ruling by the MDL Court limiting the damages period for the Class to the four-year period prior to filing, Sam represented a group of opt-outs and marshaled the record to establish a basis for tolling, which doubled the damages period for his clients. In re Pork Antitrust Litigation, No. 18-cv-1776, 2023 WL 6279354 (D. Minn. Sept. 26,2023).
Represented retail pharmacies as plaintiffs in prosecuting the largest cartel case in U.S. history. At the time of filing, the class had alleged dozens of separate single-drug conspiracies; Sam alleged a single overarching conspiracy involving hundreds of drugs, which allowed clients to pursue their claims as part of a single case. The court endorsed this theory, which simplified discovery and litigation in a sprawling and complex MDL. In re Generic Drug Pricing Litigation, MDL 2724.
Pursued pricing fixing claims on behalf of Sears and Kmart against Korean and Japanese electronics manufacturers. Sam’s efforts in the case maximized the clients’ recoveries and established important precedent allowing domestic companies to pursue claims against foreign cartels. In re CRT Antitrust Litigation, MDL 1917.
Represented large retailers with substantial claims against domestic tuna producers, all of which admitted to price-fixing canned tuna, but had significant financial limitations. Developed a legal theory to sue each domestic manufacturer’s foreign corporate parent (Thai Union, Dongwon, Lion Capital), which substantially increased the clients’ recoveries despite each domestic defendant’s threats of bankruptcy. In re Packaged Seafood Antitrust Litigation, MDL 2670.
Prevailed in a pro bono criminal matter before the U.S. Supreme Court and Eleventh Circuit persuading the courts to extend protection under the First Amendment to political speech and overturn the client’s criminal conviction. Martinez v. United States, 576 U.S. 1001 (June 8, 2015); United States v. Martinez, 800 F.3d 1293 (11th Cir. Sept. 3, 2015).
