Maria Passo

Maria Passo focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, representing clients in business disputes across a broad range of industries. She is known for her strategic mindset, attention to detail, and ability to craft creative, persuasive arguments that advance her clients’ objectives both in and out of court. 

Maria’s experience includes litigating contract disputes, business torts, shareholder derivative actions, and other commercial claims. She approaches every matter with a clear focus on her clients’ goals, guiding cases from inception through resolution with efficiency and precision.

Maria brings a distinct international perspective to her practice. She earned her Juris Doctor equivalent from IBMEC in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she graduated summa cum laude. She then completed a Master of Laws in International Arbitration at the University of Miami School of Law, followed by her Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law, also graduating summa cum laude. Fluent in English and Portuguese, with working proficiency in Spanish, Maria combines legal skill with cultural fluency to provide thoughtful, globally informed counsel. In addition to her litigation work, Maria has contributed to legal scholarship as the assistant editor of the Indian Review of International Arbitration in collaboration with the MNLU Mumbai Centre for Arbitration and Research, and her writing has been published in the Inter-American Law Review.
