BLAKE SERCYE JOINS SPERLING KENNY NACHWALTER

December 1, 2025 - Sperling Kenny Nachwalter is pleased to announce that Blake Sercye has rejoined the firm as a partner in its Chicago office.

Blake leverages his trial, commercial, and legal operations experience to deliver results for businesses and individuals in state and federal courts, as well as through alternative dispute resolution. He advises C-suite executives and senior leaders in private equity, commercial real estate, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, and technology on disputes involving antitrust, business torts, partnerships, representations and warranties, real estate finance and zoning, and employment matters.

Blake returns to the firm after previously making significant contributions to our litigation work. During his time away, he built on that foundation by serving in senior legal and operational roles across corporate and startup environments. He now brings back a broadened perspective and deepened expertise that will enhance the results we deliver to our clients.

Before rejoining the firm, Blake served as Chief of Staff to the Chief Legal and Administrative Officer at a Fortune 500 materials science company.  In that role, he advised on domestic and international disputes, intellectual property and antitrust matters, and commercial agreements, while also leading companywide cost-reduction initiatives. He later became lead commercial counsel for a business unit generating more than $800 million in annual revenue.

Blake also served as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of a startup SaaS company acquired by private equity where he managed investor communications, negotiated agreements, and set performance objectives.  He began his legal career at an Am Law 100 firm representing clients in complex commercial litigation and white-collar matters under the FCPA, False Claims Act, and anti-kickback laws.

In addition to his legal practice, Blake serves as Chairperson of Chicago’s Zoning Board of Appeals and previously served as President of the Illinois Medical District Commission, where he oversaw zoning and land-use matters in the nation’s second-largest medical district.
