SPERLING KENNY NACHWALTER SECURES PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION RESTORING TEXAS STATE LINEBACKER TYMERE JACKSON’S ELIGIBILITY

August 28, 2026 – Sperling Kenny Nachwalter successfully secured a preliminary injunction on behalf of Texas State University linebacker Tymere Jackson, restoring his eligibility to compete during the 2026 college football season.

Travis County Circuit Court Judge Laurie Eiserloh granted the preliminary injunction after finding that Tymere is entitled to an additional season of competition. Tymere sought relief related to injuries he suffered during the 2024 season and the NCAA’s 2024 grant of a blanket waiver allowing a season of participation for student-athletes who played a year of non-NCAA sports, while excluding student-athletes like Tymere.

“Tymere has shown extraordinary resilience through his injuries and this fight. We could not be prouder to help restore his eligibility so he can take the field with his Texas State teammates in 2026,” said partner Blake Sercye, who led the representation.
